She's Got Legs and She Knows How to Use Them!

Leg day and I. Am. Beat. Between squats, leg press, and step-ups (among others) I just feel exhausted. Therefore, it'll be a slow blog day. I'll just hit on a few things first. 


On your leg days, you need to increase your calorie intake by around 300 calories. Due to the leg muscles being so large, and the work and effort you're putting into them, you need those extra calories. You will burn a good bit during your workout. I'm not sure if y'all have noticed, but I know I tend to be hungrier and very tired after a good leg workout. I try to incorporate more sweet potatoes or other good complex carbs to help keep sugar levels up and to maintain energy throughout the day. REMEMBER, if you're not getting enough calories while trying to lift, you're not going to gain muscle and you're not going to get your metabolism running the way it should. Leaving you...."skinny fat". You know what I'm talking about? Thin, but jiggly. 


Do y'all remember the wall sit exercise that we all had to do in elementary P.E. class, or at basketball practices? Well, I did those today as I waited on a piece of equipment that I needed. There's a little tip for you for next time you have to wait. Go sit on the wall and work those quads! 


I'm going to be taking my measurements and weight every week. I'll update those on here on those days. Probably every Sunday. I'll also be posting progress pictures every two week to once a month. I haven't fully decided. 


Oh...AND, last thing. I ordered a new workout tank top that says, "STRONG is the new skinny". I can't wait till it gets here!
