Okay. So, I have never blogged before, but I'm feeling compelled to do so now. I have to warn you, my grammar sucks. I'll mix my past and present tenses around like nobody's business! This was brought to my attention by my grandfather who asked how I made it all the way to my Master's with my poor grammar skills. Ha!
Fit.in.the.gym. I came up with this name for two reasons. Obviously, the first reason is to get physically (and mentally) fit! The second reason, to me, is just as important. Find your "fit" in the gym. Do you like Zumba, weight training, yoga, or just running? Find what you like and get plugged in. I'm a firm believer in weight training, and feel it's crucial to your overall health. Therefore, I'll be talking more in detail about weight lifting and cardio. Please PLEASE don't use the excuse (women) that you'll buff up like a dude if you life weights. No. You won't. Not if you're lifting correctly, getting the right kind of cardio (fat burning cardio...Did you know not all cardio is fat burning? Me either.), AND that you have the right kind of diet. When I say diet, I don't mean starve yourselves, I mean eating all the right food and getting plenty of calories to build lean muscle.
Anyway, what I've decided to blog on is this: my strength training, cardio, and nutrition. I'm hoping to post many before and after pictures (I'm thinking every two weeks I'll update photos and measurements), "menus" of what I eat, and my overall "live" review of Jamie Eason's LiveFit Trainer. Just today I completed the liveFit Trainer...the entire 12 weeks and didn't miss a single day!! Although I see great results and feel AMAZING, I would like to start all over and build a little bit more muscle (especially in my arms), and shred some more fat. I'm going to try my best to post everyday or every other day. I'll post my exercises, sets, reps, and how much weight I'll be using. I'll also post my struggles, the times I'm discouraged, and the times I feel like a Victoria Secret model. ; ) I'm going to describe my diet too. The first time around I didn't watch my macros (protein, carbs, and fats) really well, so this time I want to keep a better eye on those from the start. I'm going to aim for 40/30/30. This means I want 40% of my calories to come from my protein, 30% to come from my carbs, and 30% to come from fats (healthy fats). I'd love to have you follow me through this journey, or maybe even join me. I'm going to begin April 16th, so if you're interested in joining me, let me know and we can push each other through this and we can be Victoria Secret models together! : )
