Just wanted to tell you again how proud I am of you. It takes a lot of guts especially for a girl to post all of this personal information for tons of people to see. I know that I havent told you this but you motivate me as well. When i am in the gym thinking about quitting on another rep, I think about all the crazy workout stuff you have done and it pushes me.I love you so much and cant wait to get my hands on you!
Okay, so I could have left the "get my hands on you" part out, but what fun would that be?! Anyway, I just love that I have someone to encourage me and support me. The pictures will stay where they are (even though I'm bloated with flaxseed in them)!
This morning I woke up exhausted and feeling rushed. I had to eat my breakfast on the way to taking my daughter to school and I literally ate my last egg white in the gym parking lot. I'd highly recommend NOT doing this. This is not a good feeling when you're about to do push-ups. For breakfast I had six egg whites, 1/3 cup of regular oats (with cinnamon), and a double shot of espresso. The espresso is my pre-workout stimulant, if you will. Again, trying to stay all natural.
Today I worked on my chest and tri's. I had a great workout! A lady asked for my blog information, and I hardly could write it down... forget about tearing the paper! My arms were jello...straight up killing me! I did try something new today to amp up my push-ups. I did them on two benches. Like this:
Yeah, these felt good! I attempted to do my narrow push-ups this way too, but I could only get a handful before I hit the ground to finish them. However, I completed all of them on my toes. Overall, I had a great workout.
Something I wanted to touch on too, is supplements. I haven't discussed these yet, so I feel that I should now since it's the first day of my program. I DO take supplements, however, I don't take everything that has been recommended to me. My single most important supplement is my protein powder. I take this at least once a day (right after my workout), sometimes twice a day. Here is a great explanation of the importance of protein in your everyday diet and especially if your weight training:
I also take a women's multi-vitamin, fish oil, a hair, skin, and nail vitamin, and a daily probiotic. I'm a HUGE fan of probiotics! I've been taking them for years now, and they have changed my life drastically! I was diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) aka, we don't know what's wrong with you, and since them I've been on probiotics. I very seldom have bloating and I'm NEVER sick. I haven't had a cold in years! I think I have an insanely strong immune system...knock on wood. That is all I take. I'm considering one other, but I need to do some more research on it first. I'll let you know once I decide one way or the other.
Please enjoy the rest of your day! Thanks again for your interest!
Haha! I was the "lady" that asked for the blog info! :) and, I too, have been diagnosed with IBS (aka...we don't know what's wrong) ...I think it's my gallbladder even though all tests say its not! Enjoyed talking to you today! Keep up the awesome work!! I've been looking at Jamie Eason's workout ever since I've been home today so hanks for the info on that too!!
ReplyDeleteHa! amy, it was great talking with you...and hearing your daughter sing! : ) Let me know if you have any questions on Jamie's workout plan. I'm still learning as I go, but this is my second go round, so I think I'll do even better this time. Take care and see ya around the gym!
