Day One of Week Three and I Killed It! Plus, My Husband Gets to See Me Tomorrow!

Oh, today is a great day! It's amazing how much energy you have when you know your husband is coming home from an over a year long deployment! Let's just say, legs didn't have anything on me today. I pushed hard today and felt great! This week during LiveFit I move up to working out five days a week. Two of those days will be solely dedicated to legs. I know I said that I was going to try and do two days of biceps and triceps, but my legs are still too skinny for me. They're too skinny for the rest of my body....almost like Humpty Dumpty. Not to mention, I LOVE the fact that I officially have a booty now, and I'd like to keep that going too! ; ) The past two weeks I've been doing three sets of 12 of every exercise. The next two weeks I will drop down to three sets on ten, meaning I'll probably increase my weights as well. This is all about the muscle building here.

Today Jamie Eason introduces us to the single-leg deadlift using the barbell. For whatever reason, I'm drawn to any exercise that uses single legs or arms at a time. To me, you REALLY feel it. Especially with the legs. Not only am I trying to watch my form, but I'm always trying to control my balance while tightening my core. They burn, but baby they feel good!

Random thought: Can I just say, I LOVE the fact that my kids are constantly touching all over me asking me to "flex"? Nothing else in the world makes me feel better than knowing that my kids look up to me, they're proud of their mommy. As a matter of fact, something wonderful happened yesterday. as my teenage daughter and I were driving to a family birthday party, she actually asked me if I would train her. She doesn't know this, but that just made my day. Nothing can top that! This is what's it's about folks. Life style changes. I've never pushed her into working out. I don't make her eat what I eat. She's WATCHED me, and decided for herself that that is the life she wants too. Simply amazing.

Now, those of you who don't know, my husband has been deployed for over a year now. We've been able to see him a few times in the last 13 1/2 months, but we are just ready to have daddy back home with us. As good of a job I do alone, I'm nothing without him. He is the most amazing daddy and husband in the world. As a matter of fact, he is the reason I'm writing a blog. The reason I'm in the gym today. The reason why I'm in just about the healthiest shape I've ever been in in my life. Notice I said healthiest. I've been skinner...much skinner, but never healthy. I've fought eating disorders most of teens/early 20's...and still even have thoughts about resorting to that. When my husband came home for Christmas he had gained 15 or so ponds from the last time I had seen him (almost four months). He gained nothing but solid muscle. Please understand my husband was a very little guy...we've always yo-yo'd who weighed more at any given time. when we came home and I saw that he used his time away to become healthier and stronger, while I was using my time to whither away in the bed all day...it was eye opening. I wanted him for four weeks hit the gym five days a week and never missed a day. The day he left to go back to Korea, I hit the gym. I haven't missed a scheduled day since! Sometimes working out six days a week for a month straight! So, thank you Bryan. Thank you for letting me watch you and want to change for myself...just as Kelsye is doing now with me.

What's really exciting is that Bryan hasn't seen me since I've been in the gym! I'm exactly 15 pounds lights, and about 10 inches smaller! Oh...and he's gained ever MORE weight/muscle, so it's all good for the both of us! Ha! Here is what he saw last before he left:

After (but I've lost more since this photo!)

It's going to be an excited day tomorrow! I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes and if my husband approves of the new me.

Two Week Progress Photo and Measurements

Today's blog will be short and sweet, as I promised I'd share with y'all my two week progress. So, here it is:

Body Fat %: dropped to 20.1% from 20.9%

Measurements:

-- Waist: dropped to 28 from 28.25
-- Love Handles (problem area): dropped to 35.5 from 36.5
-- Chest (I probably lost more around my back/underarm area here rather than my actual chest): dropped to 38 from 38.5
-- Calves: I gained here (which is what I want): up to 13.5 from 13

These were my only measurement changes, so if you're new and trying to play catch-up, you can view my complete before measurements on the blog titled: BIG Announcement Time AND Before Photos!

My overall weight loss for the two weeks: I went from 144 to 141...not bad for two weeks at the gym and ZERO cardio! I contribute the weight loss to my clean eating, along with an increase in my metabolism due to the weight training.

Last update will be an updated photo. I have to say, my teenager is out of town this weekend and my husband is still in South Korea (until Tuesday!!!!), so I had to have my seven year old son take my progress pictures. Needless to say, I have one decent photo. I can tell a good difference though and I'm very pleased so far. I can't WAIT to see how the next ten weeks turn out!

Overall, I'm VERY happy with the results so far and I'm just two weeks in! Those of you concerned about giving up your cardio, I just have to say, please trust the program! Jamie Eason's LiveFit Trainer WILL give you results IF you follow it the way she designed you to! To those in the program now, keep pushing and  good luck!

Tomorrow starts week three and also increases to a five day workout week...which I'm excited about! Two days of legs/glutes this week people! Until then, I'm going to enjoy my rest day by spending time with family. Have a great Sunday!!

Oh...I also keep all my updates here if you want to check it out:

LiveFit Trainer Week Two - Day Four AND an Example of My Daily Menu

Today is the fourth day of week two of Jamie Eason's LiveFit Trainer, and I'm REALLY missing cardio right now! Like I've mentioned before, there is no cardio in the first four weeks. Zero. You're literally there to build muscle, and she doesn't want the cardio to effect (it is effect, and not affect, right? Gosh, I suck at grammar!) that. Anyway, I'm missing cardio right now, and I have to wait two more weeks before it's incorporated into the Trainer. Oh well. Just wait. I'll have a blog whining about the cardio in three weeks!

So, today I worked on my shoulders and my abs. It's great, because I can actually feel my abs coming in. The first time since I had my 14 year old, I can actually feel my abs become tight! I've always had a somewhat flat stomach, but not defined, strong, and tight. I think it's become even more defined in the last two weeks...thanks to clean eating. You'll see Sunday when I post an update with my measurements, pictures, and body fat %. With my abs, I worked on my shoulders and increased my weight in two exercises today. My all time favorite shoulder exercise is the Arnold Press:

I absolutely LOVE these! By the way, that is Jamie Eason in the video. Check out HER abs! Amazing!

Since I discussing proteins and carbohydrates with you guys, and after being asked by a STRONG is the New Skinny fan what my daily menu looks like, I put one together for you to read over. This is actaully my menu for tomorrow. It's already programed in my myfitnesspal.com page, so all I have to do is eat what's on there at that particular time.  Honestly, it seems like I'm eating ALL the time, and sometimes, I'm forcing myself to eat. As you notice, I stay around the 1550 calorie mark for my "goal" weight. On the days that I workout my legs, I tag on another 300 calories throughout the day. What's key is to try and spread out your proteins, carbs, and fats throughout the day. I typically NEVER eat carbs after 6:00-7:00 at night. It's all protein. Also, this menu changes up, but I try and keep the marco's the same each meal. I'm very new at this, so my meal plan may not be perfect, but I'm learning as I go and as I do more research. So, take a look:
